my son was excluded from one school but we managed to get him into a differnent school where he did well and sorted himself out. we have now moved to a new area and he started a new school yesterday. today i received a call from the new school saying the principal would like to meet with my husband and I to discuss the fact that our son had been excluded from the first school. what i would like to know is this - can the new school refuse my son because he was excluded from the first school or will he be alright because the school he has just left were happy with him? Do you find this valuable?

Not know the background to your son's exclusion and considering it was 2 schools ago, I wouldn't read into it too much. My off the cuff answer is no. The Principal maybe wanting to discuss ways of how they can support your son and be looking at preventative measures. My advice will be to go into the meeting positive and in the mindset that "It is the schools responsibility to educate my son" Take notes and if possible ask the principal for a written summary of the meeting for your records. He cannot use information from the previous school where the exclusion happened without good reason like student and or staff safety. Stay positive and keep notes. All the best Emile Do you find this valuable?
