Oops, typo, I forgot to say that, are schools allowed to donate confiscated items to charity without that student's input?

A conffriscated item still belong to the person it was confiscated from. Schools should have a policy about items that are confiscated - how they are stored, how to get them back, how long they will be kept for etc. You could ask for a copy of the school policy about this.Check out the info about this here http://www.youthlaw.co.nz/page/Searches+and+Confiscations and call if for any further info 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Thanks bud. However, the school does not have a policy on confiscated items. And they've even put it in the school newsletter addressing it to our parents saying they have done it and have given the impression within the school newsletter that it's a policy now. Can I have my school up for this?

Short answer - the items still belong to the person they were confiscated from.No schools can't just give that stuff away no matter how virtuous they may think that is. Yes you should be able to challenge the schools right to do this. Ring us if you need need help with this 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |
