Anonymous student being expelled from the boarding 3 Aug 11 2011, 1:19 PM EDT by Anonymous

I am a student and I was expelled from the boarding school. I am a child of the boarding parents. I am now living away from home. I was given a letter by the principal ordering me that I am not permitted to be in the boarding premises. The chapel and the marae are part of the school but physically located in the boarding premises. This means that I am not allowed to see my parents and I am not allowed to be in chapel and or marae. I feel very humiliated and terribly ashamed. The reason I was excluded from the boarding was that I was for once in my almost five years as a student in the boarding got drunk. It was my first offense but I was not given a proper hearing and fair investigation and a chance to amend and be supported as a young person. My parents were called to the office of the principal and were given two difficult options, either I was to leave boarding which was my home, or my parents will be dismissed. My parents need the job and I have two other siblings in the same school. Hurting but they opted that I leave and stay away as a day student. After more than a week, I receive the notice as was talking about. At the same time my parents received a notice that they are given only one month more then they have to terminate being a boarding parent. The school is a Christian Catholic school, But the way I and my family are treated does not seem to be consistent with the values of Jesus Christ which are aroha, tika, pono, mana, and no restorative justice. I am angry with the way I and my whanau are treated. I am a person who loves sports and loves life and learning. In my junior school I was named a gifted and talented student. I was not a problem student in school. That was just one instant that I drunk alcohol like any other young lad and it was during a weekend while I was with friends. That one drinking instant has brought me a hell of devastation in my life and in my family. My message is this: practice what you preach.
