The law doesn’t give details about how special education is to be provided to students. The Ministry of Education is responsible for working this out. In the last few years there have been lots of changes in special education, and there are more happening right now. Your caregivers can get information about the latest changes by calling the Special Education Information Line on 0800-622-222 (during office hours) or visiting the website on www.minedu.govt.nz, then clicking on “special education”.
