What if a teacher takes something of mine and doesn't give it back? This is a featured page

If a teacher confiscates and keeps something of yours that teacher has to take reasonable care of it until it is given back to you. If the teacher loses or damages it, the teacher or the school Board of Trustees (as the teacher's employer) would normally be required to pay for the cost of replacing or repairing it. You can make a claim in the Disputes Tribunal for them to pay this if you need to.

The Disputes Tribunal can be contacted through the District Court in your area. The Tribunal is designed to be a cheap and quick way to resolve disputes, so if the teacher and the Board of Trustees won't help you, you can fill in a claim form and file a claim at the Tribunal.
