What if I am disabled or there are special reasons that make it hard to wear school uniform? This is a featured page

You or your parents should write to the school principal saying what your special reasons are and asking to be let off wearing that part of the uniform. If he or she won’t agree to this, you can go to the school Board of Trustees. If the school Board won’t allow you to wear different clothing, you may be able to make a complaint to the Human Rights Commission, saying that you are being discriminated against. The Human Rights Commission will advise you or your family about this. See the end of this information sheet for the Commission’s phone number.
