The United Nations Conventions on the Rights of the ChildThis is a featured page

You also have rights that come from international agreements that our Government has signed. The United Nations Conventions on the Rights of the Child (UNCROC) is one of these agreements. It applies to all persons aged below 18 years. UNCROC is not part of New Zealand law. However, because our Government has signed it, there is a strong argument that state schools should follow the principles of UNCROC when making decisions.

For more information on UNCROC, see our information sheet titled The United Nations Conventions on the Rights of the Child.
