At what age can I get engaged?
Engagement (an agreement to marry) is a social custom and is not a binding legal agreement. You can get engaged at any age but either party is free to break the agreement at any time before the wedding ceremony.
Can I have an abortion?
You may consent to or refuse a legal abortion at any age. Nobody can force you into having an abortion.

When can I buy contraceptives?

In a nutshell: 12-16 is statutory rape whether consented or not; though there is a defense if the age difference between them is not more than two years. Up to 10 years jail and possible classicification as child sex offender. Below 12 even if the other person was 13 or even 12 themselves is child abuse. So for Friends and his older BF and for getting charged for sex with a minor postings the police probably wouldn't charge. For Young and in Love wait till your 16 or he could get in trouble. It is discretionary by the police so with the 2 year defense it is there so that they can say - hey this person isn't a child predator. But if a guy is 21 and going out with a 15 year old then possibly something doesn't click in his mind quite so right, though the police may look into it if there is a history of friendship and respect between parties, mutual friends etc as opposed to a one night stand at a party. |

im 15, 16 in april, n im with this guy who turning 21, im forbidden to see him :(

Hey,
My guy friend who is 17 is going out with this 15yo girl and they are doing all sorts of things including oral and touching. There's no doubt thats its all consensual but if her parents found out and took it to the police could he get in trouble? Im just worried about my mate :S |
