YouthLaw Tino Rangatiratanga is a community law centre based in Auckland. Community law centres established to provide community legal services to communities with unmet legal needs and in particular to those with insufficient means to pay for legal services. YouthLaw provides free legal services to children and young people under 25 years nationwide, including legal information, advice, assistance, representation, education, and law reform.
We're an incorporated society and a registered charity. We welcome new members who have an interest in youth rights, and want to help us help children and young people. To become a member,

Our governance group, known as our Management Support Group (MSG), comprises YouthLaw members elected at our AGM. Our next AGM will take place on 22 October 2010 at our office in Federal Street, Auckland. It is important that our governance group is representative of our community and includes people with a wide range of skills and interests that can benefit our organisation. If you have an interest in children and young people's rights, community development, law reform, and/or previous governance experience, we encourage you to apply to join MSG.
We particularly encourage applicants from the following sectors and groups:
- Youth work / social work / counselling
- Education
- Health
- Disability
- Refugee / migrant services
- Community development
- Human rights and NGOs
- Academic and research communities
- Central and local government
- Maori, Pasifika, ethnic minorities, and especially young people.
We'd also like to hear from you if you have specific skills or experience in the following areas:
- Governance generally
- Policy development
- Strategic planning and direction
- Communication and negotiation
- Human resources
