How soon can I get a Tenancy Order? This is a featured page

A Tenancy Order can be made urgently without notice, if the Respondent has physically or sexually abused you or your child, or where a delay may cause you or your child to be physically or sexually abused.

What about the furniture?

At the same time as you apply for an Occupation or Tenancy Order, you can apply for an Ancillary Furniture Order which grants to you the possession and use of all or any of the furniture and appliances in the dwelling house, regardless of who owns them.

What if I have somewhere to live but need the furniture?

If you have applied for a Protection Order, but not an Occupation Order or Tenancy Order, because you do not want to live in the house, you can apply for a Furniture Order. This Order allows you the possession and use of furniture and appliances that were in the house that you lived in with the Respondent. However, you must show that any furniture or appliance would be reasonably required for the place where you want to live.
