How does the Convention affect my parents/caregivers e.t.c?This is a featured page

While upholding the rights of children and young people, the Convention does not infringe on the rights of parents to decide what is best for their children.
If parents or guardians abuse their responsibilities under the Convention, if they deny the child something under the Convention, then children have a right to care and protection regardless of their parents.

Parents do not own their children; they are meant to be guides, helpers and friends.
